The Royal George
The Royal George is a pub steeped in history, surrounded by lush, green trees and just a stone’s throw from Tintern Abbey. Over the past few years it has been meticulously repaired, updated and rebranded from ‘The Wild Hare’ back to its original name, The Royal George.
Brand Identity Design
Separated into three main dining elements - the cafe, the lower deck and the upper deck - the pub offers everything from grab-and-go coffee and cakes to artisanal dining, providing a huge asset to to both locals and visitors.
The restaurants also needed their own imagery to be incorporated into their own bespoke areas of the pub, and we also created a bespoke font called pret-a-porter, which is both elegant and readable and perfectly used for way finding throughout the buildings.
Typeface Design - Pret-a-Porter
The typeface for The Royal George was crafted to feel timeless—bridging the heritage of traditional British pubs with a modern sense of sophistication. Every curve and serif was drawn to echo the warmth of a hand-painted sign, while maintaining the precision and balance needed for a premium dining experience.
We worked alongside the team to ensure their logo was well matched to their vision for the full renovation. The Royal George ship, being the pub’s namesake became a key feature of the branding, complete with a curious kracken.
